Rudrapur: A 35-year-old tour and travel operator died late Tuesday night when his car rammed into a parked truck following a sudden tyre burst on the Rudrapur-Kichha highway. The incident occurred near the Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan.The victim, Mohit Sharma, a resident of Ward No. 2, Azad Nagar in Kichha, was returning home from Rudrapur around 11:30 pm. The front tyre of his car burst with a loud bang, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and slam into the rear of a roadside-parked truck.The impact of the collision completely mangled the front section of the car, trapping Sharma inside with critical injuries. Passers-by rushed to the scene, alerting both the local police and the 108 ambulance service. Sharma was extricated and shifted to the nearest Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Sharma, well-known in the local community for his travel business, is survived by his wife, Naina Sharma, a son and a daughter.A team led by Bigwara Chowki In-charge Surendra Singh Renkwal arrived at the spot shortly after the accident. The police cleared the damaged vehicles to restore the flow of traffic on the highway and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.“We are examining CCTV footage, and further action will be taken based on the findings,” said Chowki In-charge Renkwal.
