Robert Eggers’ track record in horror filmmaking
Eggers has carved out a unique voice in the horror genre over the course of his career. Beyond ‘Nosferatu’ and the upcoming ‘Werewulf’, he previously directed ‘The Northman’, an ambitious period piece that blended historical drama with elements of mythological horror. His earlier work, ‘The Witch,’ featured Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Ineson in a terrifying exploration of colonial American anxieties and supernatural dread.According to Variety, in 2019 Eggers directed ‘The Lighthouse’, a psychological horror film starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, which garnered critical acclaim for its atmospheric cinematography and disturbing narrative. His talent for taking historical events and adding that extra layer of visceral terror has made him one of the most coveted filmmakers working in horror today.
