Jeypore police organise anti-drug awareness drive at Vikram Dev university

Koraput: As part of the state govt’s Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Jeypore police on Wednesday organised an awareness programme at Vikram Dev University to sensitise students to the dangers of drug abuse and inspire them to contribute towards building a drug-free society.Jeypore SDPO Archita Mittal urged students to become ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign and spread awareness among families, friends and communities. “Youth are the strength of our nation. By staying away from drugs and encouraging others to do the same, they can play a vital role in creating a healthier and safer society. The objective of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan is not only to prevent drug abuse, but also to foster a collective sense of responsibility in eliminating this social menace,” the SDPO said.Mittal appealed to the students to inform the police if they come across any instance of drug trafficking or substance abuse, assuring them that their identity would be kept strictly confidential.University registrar Maheshwar Naik said, “Use your free time productively in ways that contribute to your personal and career growth. Take part in NCC, NSS, sports and other constructive activities available on the campus. Stay focused on your goals and do not allow unnecessary distractions to derail your future.”
