BengaluruKarnataka at the all India RDPR ministers meeting on Monday demanded that the centre revert back to the old Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) of 60:10 per cent instead of the new 60:40 per cent financial sharing between the centre and state.At the meeting, RDPR minister Eshwar Khandre said it was also apt that the centre renamed the 2.68 lakh panchayats in the country with the prefix of Mahatma Gandhi’s name.Khandre said the government should ensure that instead of the present proposal of providing 60 days of harvest season the centre should extend the scheme for 365 days a year employment guarantee to the rural parts of the country.Khandre asked for the centre to also release the pending Rs 2,186 crore central funding as prescribed by the 15th finance commission.Ends
